BLUE ROCK / MARKET RESEARCH / 2026
Social media management pricing in 2026.
Social Media Management Pricing in 2026
A BlueRock study of U.S. agency packages.
The same service name can describe a publishing calendar, a team answering customers, or a production crew. We reviewed 31 U.S. providers to see how their advertised prices relate to the work they describe.
Published offers, not paid invoices. These findings describe our sample, not a representative national market price.
Executive summary
Price is visible.
Scope needs a closer look.
Median monthly entry price among 26 interpretable offers. Observed range $200–$3,500.
Median included platform count, among 22 entry offers with a usable count.
Entry offers explicitly include reporting. Unstated details are not treated as exclusions.
Entry offers explicitly include video. Editing and original filming are different deliverables.
Entry offers explicitly include audience interaction. Hours, response limits and DM coverage vary.
Reviewed U.S. provider pages show a numerical price; 3 have unresolved monthly-price interpretation.
Headline dollars are rounded to the nearest dollar. The exact sample median is $699.50. All underlying observations and denominators are available below.
01 / Methodology
What we counted. What we did not.
BlueRock screened 32 providers and retained 31 with a U.S. location or office supported by their own pages or company profile. One candidate remains in the downloadable screening register with geography unresolved. We reviewed agency-owned pricing and service pages on September 5, 2026. This is commercial market analysis by BlueRock, which also sells the service being studied.
Discovery was purposive: searches for social media management packages and U.S. city or state terms, followed by primary-page review. Searches emphasized public pricing and included clusters in Ohio, Chicago, the Pacific Northwest, California, Texas and the Southeast. Two larger providers with proposal/contact routes were also inspected. This process overrepresents discoverable published rate cards and is not geographically balanced.
Inclusion: done-for-you organic social publishing or management offered to businesses. We excluded software subscriptions, DIY tools, content-only packages without publishing, ad-only services, duplicate providers, and unverified third-party price estimates. We did not contact agencies, purchase services or verify paid invoices.
One observation per company: the lowest clearly scoped monthly organic-management offer on the reviewed page. Where contract discounts exist, the main calculation uses the shortest explicitly offered commitment; the lower advertised figure remains in the data. Starting prices remain starting prices. Setup fees, taxes and optional production are not silently added to monthly fees. A bundled ad budget stays inside the advertised fee and is flagged.
Missing data: 26 U.S. offers enter the monthly-price calculation. Three public price records have unresolved cadence or conflicting prices; two inspected pages show no numerical package. Unknown feature fields remain “Not publicly stated.” We distinguish ambiguity, explicit exclusion and separately scoped work. Features belong to the entry offer; a higher package or general capabilities list is not proof of entry inclusion.
Calculations: each company has equal weight. Median is the middle sorted value, or the mean of the two middle values. Means are arithmetic averages. Ranges are observed minimum–maximum, not confidence intervals. Feature percentages use all 26 interpretable entry offers, including unknown fields in the denominator. No significance, causal effect or national prevalence is claimed.
Scope groups: original filming or an on-location shoot takes precedence; otherwise explicit video or community responses; otherwise planning, strategy or reporting; otherwise publishing with limited disclosure. Unclear scope remains unclassified. These are disclosure-based groups, not quality grades or proof that other services are absent. They were assigned after collection.
Freshness: checking a live rate card in 2026 does not prove its price was introduced in 2026. Most pages have no effective date. Gold Gorilla’s older copyright footer is explicitly flagged. Automated source requests were blocked for some pages; their primary content was accessible through web review. Reconfirm prices with providers before buying.
02 / Entry prices
A broad spread, even before custom quotes.
The median entry fee is approximately $700 per month in this sample, compared with an arithmetic mean of $1,019. The higher mean reflects the influence of larger retainers. Neither number is a quote for a particular business.
Distribution of monthly entry prices
26 U.S. offers; each company counted once. Starting prices and fixed prices both included.

The observed low is Goose Global Media’s $200 static-post package (opens source in a new tab); the high is Big Wave Content’s $3,500 organic-video entry package (opens source in a new tab). Their production responsibilities differ substantially.

Entry-level publishing
At this end, frequency, channels and preparation often define the offer. Armstrong’s Essential plan (opens source in a new tab) lists ten Facebook posts and a creative meeting. Its $200 advertised monthly rate requires an annual agreement; $250 is the month-to-month alternative used here. The difference belongs in a buyer’s comparison.
Managed publishing
The Views Agency’s $750 entry offer (opens source in a new tab) names captions, custom graphics, scheduling and a performance snapshot for eight posts on one platform. A reporting deliverable makes scope more explicit, but does not establish report depth, effectiveness or agency quality.
Video or community management
This group is broad: answering routine messages and editing short videos are different workloads. A single median cannot substitute for questions about response hours, approval rounds, footage ownership or editing complexity. We keep it as a scope flag and publish the individual records so readers can compare like with like.
Full service and production-heavy work
Only two interpretable entry packages explicitly include original/local production in our coding. Off The Coast Creative (opens source in a new tab) includes a monthly local video shoot; Big Wave Content (opens source in a new tab) describes shoot days, scripting and original short videos. Their midpoint is an arithmetic description of two offers, not an estimate of the full-service market.
04 / Video
“Video included” leaves the biggest question unanswered.
Who supplies the footage? That determines whether the agency is editing an existing asset or responsible for producing one. 5 of 26 entry offers (19%) explicitly include video; 5 providers (19%) also describe separately priced editing or capture options. These groups can overlap.
Video in the entry offer
Denominator: 26. A graphics-or-reels choice is ambiguous, not guaranteed video. Separate editing/filming options are counted independently.

Client-footage editing
The client records material; the provider cuts, captions and exports it. Duration, raw-footage volume and revision limits still matter.
Original short-form
Concept, script, direction and production add work before editing begins. Verify whether a shoot is actually included.
Commercial production
A campaign shoot may need locations, crew, talent, usage rights and several deliverables. This dataset cannot estimate those custom project costs.
In one provider’s own Starter offer, supplying your footage changes the advertised fee from $900 to $450 per month.
Scroll Theory Media (opens source in a new tab) provides that comparison with the same advertised post/video counts. It illustrates a scope tradeoff within one provider; it does not establish an average market premium for filming. Read BlueRock’s editing and original-video scope guide for the questions to resolve before commissioning work.
05 / Audience interaction
Publishing is a calendar. Community is a response obligation.
Explicit community interaction appears in 11/26 entry offers (42%). Only 3/26 explicitly name DM handling. A community label therefore should not be read as full inbox coverage.
Community management disclosure
Comments monitoring alone is not coded as responding. Unstated coverage is not exclusion.

Launch Social Media (opens source in a new tab) describes weekday business-hour responses. Nashville Signal (opens source in a new tab) explicitly names basic comments and DMs. Before signing, define sensitive-question escalation, weekends, response time and whether sales or customer support are separate responsibilities.
06 / Advertising
Organic management ≠ ad management ≠ ad spend.
3/26 entry offers (12%) explicitly name paid social management. That does not automatically pay for impressions. The service fee buys campaign work; the media budget buys delivery through the advertising platform.
There is a clear exception to a blanket “ad spend is always separate” claim: Launch’s entry offer includes $150 of ad spend (opens source in a new tab). Conversely, Nashville Signal lists separate ad management and excludes spend (opens source in a new tab). Web Support Plaza’s introductory copy and FAQ conflict on budget inclusion (opens source in a new tab), so that field is ambiguous in our data.
The many unstated budget fields prevent a defensible estimate of how often the wider market includes ad spend. Ask for a line-item split instead of assuming that a retainer is an all-in advertising budget.
07 / Content volume & platforms
A post count needs a counting rule.
12 interpretable entry offers state a usable monthly total or cap. Their median is 9 posts, with an observed 4–16 range. This subset mixes static posts and video; it is not a recommended publishing cadence. Weekly schedules, per-platform counts and overlapping post/video allowances are excluded.

When price per post is useful
Dividing a full-service retainer by a post count can price customer responses, filming and advertising as if they were interchangeable posts. We restrict this illustration to three explicitly countable publishing offers without those confirmed bundled services:
- Armstrong Web Dynamics (opens source in a new tab): $250 ÷ 10 = $25 per listed core post, rounded. Scope and setup fees still differ.
- The Views Agency (opens source in a new tab): $750 ÷ 8 = $94 per listed core post, rounded. Scope and setup fees still differ.
- Gold Gorilla Media (opens source in a new tab): $800 ÷ 16 = $50 per listed core post, rounded. Scope and setup fees still differ.
Even these are allocation ratios, not prices for buying an individual post.
Platform count does not rise neatly with price

| Under $500 | 2 | n=8; range 1–5 |
| $500–999 | 1.5 | n=6; range 1–5 |
| $1,000–1,999 | 2 | n=5; range 1–3 |
| $2,000+ | 2 | n=3; range 1–3 |
The overall platform median is 2 across 22 offers. Crossposting one asset to five channels is different from creating five platform-specific concepts. 2/26 providers (8%) explicitly publish an extra-platform charge in the reviewed material; absent pricing is not proof that additional channels are free.
Why $750 and $3,000 can both be called social media management.
Those price labels are useful questions, not equivalent specifications. A buyer needs to identify who creates the source material, who designs each output, how many distinct ideas are commissioned, which channels receive adaptations, and who answers people afterward.
A $750 quote built around client images may suit a business with a steady flow of finished-project photos. A larger retainer can be reasonable when it adds original capture, frequent production, strategy meetings and response coverage. This study cannot tell you whether a particular agency will deliver better results. It can help you see which promises need to be written down.
Request a sample calendar, a definition of one content piece, a revision allowance, reporting examples and a responsibility split. Then compare the annual commitment, setup fee and production charges. Our practical cost and buying guide walks through that decision.
Commercial disclosure / Where BlueRock fits
A defined monthly scope, with advanced work quoted.
BlueRock is the publisher of this study and a service provider. Its own offer is excluded from the market calculations. Its plans sit across the observed entry-price range; that establishes price context, not superiority or like-for-like value.
BlueRock offer updated October 18, 2026. The provider observations and research dataset remain dated September 5, 2026.

One original material adapted to the platforms in a plan counts once; it is not a separate creative asset for every platform.
Every plan includes planning, writing, design, carousels, editing of supplied footage within the plan’s video limit, approval, scheduling, publishing and a monthly report. Growth adds all six platforms, retouched photos and a review call; Pro adds daily publishing, four premium videos, weekday comment and DM management and a quarterly strategy session.
Campaign production, original audio, paid ad spend and custom automation receive a separate scope and estimate. On-location filming and photography are not part of the service.
See the exact scope or compare the monthly plans and add-ons. A request goes through written scope review before onboarding or payment; submitting the form does not start a subscription.

Production needs depend on the material your business already has. Completed-roof photos, HVAC service videos and recruiting footage are different inputs. Explore the practical workflows for roofing, HVAC and trucking.
08 / Open evidence
Every observation has a source.
The register includes 31 U.S. providers and one geography-unverified candidate. Open a record for its full field-level coding. “Highest standard” is the highest priced named package on the inspected page; when packages start at a figure, this is a floor, not a maximum bill. Custom quotes are never treated as a numeric ceiling.

No standard entry package: feature inclusion cannot be determined. This is not a claim that no price exists anywhere on the domain.
Feature disclosure, with unknowns visible.
Each percentage uses all 26 interpretable U.S. entry offers. These are explicit inclusion rates in reviewed copy, not estimates of actual delivery.

Reuse this research with its context.
This dataset intentionally names organizations and links to their public prices. For this edition, the permitted-use, permission-required, third-party source-material and no-warranty provisions in BlueRock’s Dataset Reuse Terms apply. Statements there about anonymized datasets describe our other studies; this pricing register is openly attributed.
You may cite brief findings and reproduce individual charts in journalistic, educational or commentary contexts with credit to BlueRock, a link to this study and the sample/date caveat. Republishing the complete dataset or incorporating it into a commercial data or training product requires written permission under those terms. Rights in agency source material remain with its owners.
Limits and reuse.
Public pricing is a selection filter. This sample does not represent agencies that rely on private proposals, the distribution of actual buyer spending, or every U.S. region. Package language varies, and unlisted services may be available. We did not assess service quality, outcomes, provider capacity or contract enforceability.
Small scope groups, missing fields and mixed deliverables limit comparisons. The data cannot establish that video causes a specific price increase, that more platforms mean more work, or that a cheap offer is poor value. Ad budgets, production rights, travel and tax may change the final cost.

Future editions will use separate year-specific files. Any new collection or coding change should publish a new version and explain comparability before asserting a year-over-year trend. Prices can change after our review.
